More people buying = more need to print, and larger print orders means more QC issues slipping through the cracks. COVID.

All of the decks contain at least a couple of cards worth between $5-10 and I can see a lot of the legendaries from the precons becoming good and unique commanders. I don't see the 2017 commander precons being that much more insane than these and 2 of those decks are worth ~$300 sealed. DMU and more recent precons are definitely better put together. I wouldn't go earlier. The brother's war precons are good. Aggro and mishra is more nuanced. The 40k precons are all great but it out of stock that's a problem. The Phyrexia ones might be a bit weaker, but I've had a lot of fun playing them stock.

No, pile-of-cards is worse than most precons, and niche theme tribal is also generally worse. Those should be 1 and 2. Worst precons a 3 (Kalemne?), Best precons go to 5, upgraded precons to 6. Decks with a plan are a 7, decks with a consistent plan are 8, cedh starts at 9, the best possible decks start at 10.
