Connected red wire to red wire going to starter solenoid on battery positive side. The alternator is a brand new and so is the wiring harness going into the back/side of the alternator. There's no exception, if you lifted your jeep, your castor angle is wrong and your steering demonstrates one or more of the following characteristics: 1) The steering wanders, particularly at higher speeds. 2) The steering wheel has a lot of play, usually 1-2" before the wheels turn. 3) The steering wheel doesn't center itself after a turn.You may need to come up with a threaded adapter to actually mount it in the block, but then you can just hook up your wires like stock. I bought the jeep in good running condition, with the intention of fixing things as they broke, and learning as I go, I couldn't find anything on the web relating to this issue so ... 1) Remove the 13mm caliper bolts and set your caliper to the side. Now would be a good time to clean/grease your slides, and clean your brake hardware. It doesn't really seem to have any common issues, maybe bad solenoids. Mine has 231,000, seems fine. Use the correct fluid, keep them cool, use O/D off when towing anything. Enjoy. Here are some pictures and descriptions of how everything went for me.Your easiest solution at this point is to cut away the offending area on the skid plate with torches, sawzall, cutting wheel, etc. around where the transfer case is contacting the skid plate. While this is partially true, removing the transfer case drop will bring the transfercase away from the skidplate slightly.
