Marlin 336 schematic.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a 336 in .30-30 built back in 1972. It is in quite good all original shape and you can imagine what a happy fellow I am nowadays. I was wondering if someone would have an owner's manual from this time period, maybe as a PDF? Thank you all for advice. My 336 .44 magnum has the straight stock, brass saddle ring and gold trigger. From what I've read the barrel stamp should indicate 336 Texan .44 Magnum for a 1965 gun. When I place 2 shells into the magazine shell #1 feeds out but shell #2 protrudes out 1/8 inch and jams the lifter.

The marlin jam is caused by wear to the lifter over time. Once it starts, you have to rework the lifter to correct the problem. There are many, many threads on the forum here on the various ways folks have fixed it, from jb welding saw blades to bending the lifter a couple thousandths in a vice. They are worth a search and read.
