I am going to change it to the proper fluid. BTW, this is the same trans fluid the dealership used on my 2016 Camaro SS to treat the trans shudder problem. So far, so good on that issue. jake111. If I remember this right, 2002 calls for 80W-90 non-synthetic gear oil, but 75W-90 is just fine. If you want to run synthetic 75W-90 (many of us like Mobil 1) you should check the plastic vent cover on the front diff. The vent tube should be coming out of the top of your axle, near the differential area. Its probably on the axle tube, slightly away from the differential housing.
