The 19 holds more rounds. I've had the Springfield XD sub 9mm, a Glock 26 and 19. The biggest problem with the 26 is the lack of said a rail (why that's the case is beyond me; it would easily fit), which the XD has. As someone who's had and shot the lot, the grip angle on the XD is more in line with my liking. And the grip safety?XD9 fits my hand better but the Glock 19 is more concealable because of the shorter grip. The XD is a pretty slept on gun, its comfortable, easy to shoot, and easier to manipulate than a gen 3 19. That being said, If we Californians had better access to a gen 5, I would probably go with that.

The Springfield XD is a remarkably boxy-looking firearm. It rivals Glock in that aspect. I don't find it that appealing. The slide is a little bit too tall for my taste. Overall the pistol just looks a little fat. The rear and front grips are alright, but there's minimal grip on the sides. I prefer my guns with aggressive grip texturing.
