Geensled, The only difference in the 30AS and the 336 is the wood and the sights. The 30AS has a birch stock, carbine style front sight, and I believe a stamped sheetmeatal style rear with the sliding elevator. The 336 has black walnut for stocks, adjustable semi buck horn rear sight, and a hooded bead sight on a ramp for a front.I suspect production of this model ceased long before Remington became involved.
