That's what I was thinking, bad logic board. This issue occurred in iOS 14.2 but I was able to unplug it wait like half and hour then plug it back in. Worked like a charm for a month or two. Then I ran the update for 14.3 then a week later, static/poppy sound, then blinking volume lights. Keep in mind this paired as stereo with a new Homepod.
