If it doesn't, your center afire actuator has gone bad. If it clicks when you hit recirculate, your inlet air actuator has gone bad. Like.

Trouble is, you cannot expect to succeed in this for over 10-year old car. Just continue driving the ticking car. Get rid of the car by selling it.
