You can also see the Sand Island Lighthouse from the ferry ride. We will be arriving on a Saturday. It looks like the quickest route is taking the ferry over from Dauphin Island to Fort Morgan.
5 years ago. There is no comparison between DI and Gulf Shores / Orange Beach. Dauphin Island has a couple of restaurants and is primarily made up of individually owned homes and beach cottages and is centered around fishing. GS and OB are tourist destinations with both high rise and low density condos, hotels and homes.
