Open sights were also somewhat lower quality but still tapped for scope mounts. Our 1979-ish 30A has accounted for many deer and much appreciated freezer meat. By my research it was made in 1973 based on the serial number. There is still plenty of rifling left so it hasn't been used that much. Like they said $200 is a far price for one in excellent condition. $2600, must have been looking a something else. 100% blue book of gun values is $220. I shot this 100 yard group yesterday with my older Glenfield model 30GT. I'm sighted approximately 2.5 inches higher than point of aim. This is my zero for all deer hunting east and west.
