The camshaft is made of case-hardened steel and has seven main bearings (five on the 4-cylinder engine). Each cylinder has cams for intake and exhaust valves and a unit pump. It makes the air more dense to allow the combustion during the compression stroke. The intake heater doesn't need to come on any other time. The coolant heater was added by Freightliner/Thomas because of poor bus body heat shortly after they switched from 3126 to C7. Thomas did free retrofits on C7 equipped units that didn't have them already. ... The fuel solenoid needs 2 wires to operate if it is internally grounded and could have three wires which. would be the ground, One wire is the pull in circuit and the other wire is the hold in circuit. The intake preheater only works when it is cold.

I know there is power to the heater just need to test the heater to make sure it is working correctly. The intake heater solenoid is ground controlled from the ECM. The power supply for the relay , heater and lamp are OEM. Check the ground strap at the rear of the cylinder head to ECM. Locate the relay.
