If you want specific exotics from the Lost Sectors you can use easy days to stack up engrams. Takes a bit of grinding though. Fill your engram inventory with Prime engrams (the pink ones, earned with XP). Get all 8 slots filled. You can also leave Eververse engrams in there to likewise take up space.

You can get exotics, but they will not be that days slot specific nor does it have bad luck protection.
