Yes. I brought some 22k health and 700 melee, prim saddles when did gamma. Was easy and did not have to worry about deaths. Gamma monkey was easier for me. Alpha broodmother/monkey (Gamma dragon) = 42k HP, 1200 melee, 43 armor saddles.

My theris hatched at 9222hp 1200 stm and 396 melee. They all have about 21k health and 700 ml after level up.
