The 3/4 oz. load is a good performer for practice inside 40 yds. and very economical. My best performing load after trying several different components is 8 1/2's @ 1325fps. It is a VERY fine grained powder and it will find any leakage path in your reloader, so be aware. Posts: 394. Magnum primers are simply more energetic primers. They will cause faster and more complete ignition of powder, spiking pressure higher and earlier and contributing to a slightly higher FPS on average. Someone mentioned data for a 45. that could be since the 45 acp is a low pressure round. The 9mm is considered a high pressure round thus one reason for slower powders.
