Wanted to know which one is better out of CSULB and SDSU for MS CS for the following factors: A) ROI B) Location C) Job prospects ( Full stack SWE roles ) D) Course load ( Less hectic preferred ) TIA. SDSU has a poor reputation for CS. The program is a mess. Read the SDSU subreddit for info. Housing is very expensive.I would agree that overall, the school is much better. Not just rankings but in terms of opportunities overall, dining, location, etc. Both schools have flaws of course and SDSU has many especially when it comes to finances, but it is overall the better school. If you want a social life then for sure SDSU, CSULB is a commuter school so after class we go home we don't really stay to hang out unless you make an effort and you join clubs and orgs.

SJSU is a great school and if the cost of living is your main deciding factor, SJSU might be a good choice since you live close. On the flip side, SDSU is a lot more engaging socially and there are definitely tech jobs in San Diego. After being at both schools I definitely prefer SDSU.
