It is underrated! In fairly typical Hollywood style, a second movie (Despicable Me) in the same general format came out around the same time and now people don't talk much about Megamind, which was so much better than it had to be. Sure, "Megamind" is funny and sharp and clever and well-executed. However, it remains a one-joke premise about a bad guy being pointless without a good guy and vice versa, so your mind may wander after a while.
