The second vent line should run to the "out" side of the fuel filter. Your fuel filter should have two ports on one side of it; one goes to the carb and the other to the vent on the gas tank. This lets the psi above the recommended 4psi (I think) run back into the gas tank so that line is not really a vent but a return line from the fuel filter.The factory fuel filter, was installed level horizontally at a height that was slightly higher than the inlet of the carb.
